Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter

On this Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter, you can expect a once in a lifetime excursion experience that brings you closer to the Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin than ever! On this Nassau excursion, not only will you see the Bottlenose Dolphin habitat, but you'll also learn information about dolphins and the ocean, too.

Your 30-minute program begins with an interactive orientation covering topics such as the natural history of dolphins, animal training techniques, ocean conservation and Watchable Wildlife Guidelines.

Once on the Dolphin Encounter float, you'll stand on a waist-deep submerged platform and experience a heart-warming kiss, a hug, a dance and opportunities to rub down the dolphin. Your dolphin trainer will combine elements of hands-on contact, education, fun, laughter, and adventure to make this an unforgettable Nassau excursion. While you enjoy your Dolphin Encounter and learn about their habitat, you will also be in the midst of one of the finest natural attractions in the Bahamas.

The professional photo and video staff on deck will be capturing your encounter, so that you will have a chance to purchase and take home an incredible souvenir of your amazing experience.

After your unforgetable dolphin encounter, enjoy a day in the sun. You also have use of the breathtaking lagoon beach area including unlimited use of water toys (unsinkable float mats, inner tubes and big boss noodles), hammocks, picnic tables, beach umbrellas, beach chairs and games. There are lockers on the beach side for an additional $5 US all day, changing areas and showers for use. Bring your cameras to capture amazing views from the observation areas of the Dolphin Encounters - amazing all-natural habitat, where you can see friendly dolphins and amazing sea lions.

Other water sports (paddle boats, aquabikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear, inflatable parks, and others) are available at an additional cost. Refreshing soft drinks, daiquiris, pina coladas, beer, wine, tropical drinks, mixed drinks, and a grilled lunch are also available for purchase at the Tropical Beach Bar.

The transfer to and from the island is included from the ferry terminal on Paradise Island. Guests participating in an animal encounter before 2:00 PM can return to the mainland on ferries departing the island at 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00. Guests booking animal programs at 12:30 PM may not have time to enjoy the beach. Guests on the 2:00 PM encounter only will have a special ferry that departs the island at 6:00 PM, and will not have beach time after the encounter, as the beach closes at 4:00 PM.

Please Note: Personal cameras, including cell phones or other electronic devices, are not permitted on the animal program platforms. Non-participants may observe those in their party who are taking part in a dolphin program. If you wish to stay and enjoy the island facilities, the observer should purchase a ticket for the Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day. If you wish to only visit the island to observe the Dolphin Encounter, there is a $25 US fee per observer for the ferry ride from Paradise Island to Blue Lagoon (if there is space available), and a $5 US fee per observer for the bus to the ferry (if there is space available). These observer fees are payable directly to the ferry and the bus, and no reservations are necessary.

At the program areas, you can take your own photos or videos from the public dock areas. Please be advised that an unobstructed view of all dolphin interactions is not guaranteed, and observers are not allowed on the platforms at any time. No exceptions will be made.

Great experience
April 20, 2022
We took about a 30 minute boat ride to the island from the pier and then walked around until our time for the the dolphin encounter. We had about a dozen other people in our group but they made sure we each had enough time with the dolphin. It was great and the picture prices are very reasonable. My biggest tip is to take snacks and drinks with you because they are expensive on the island. Lockers are free. I look forward to going again.

The kids loved it and I couldn't stop smiling.

The groups were boarded onto the boat and brought past several beautiful ocean front homes on the way to Blue lagoon island. It was a fun trip with the staff playing music and even getting the guests to dance along. It was about 20-30 minutes. Once there you cross a beautiful walking bridge with nautical rope sides, dolphins to the side and very pretty blue water. Then we had time before our dolphin encounter so we went to swim first. The first group was rushed over to the dolphin encounter area right away. The beach has 2 sides. One side has the air raft jumping/climbing park and the other just open water. The bar splits the 2 sections. The gift shop had a nice variety. The lunch was a buffet style with a lot of good food. Gets you one trip and juice drink. It's tea , lemonade or fruit punch. They have hammocks, large chess and checkers tables and coconut bowling. Overall we loved it. Only thing I would suggest is making it easier to see your photos with the dolphins.

Expensive, but worth it!

It has been a dream of mine and my wife's to interact with dolphins, and this experience was exactly what we had hoped for. It was made even better by the fact that our 3-year-old daughter could join us. It was a lot of fun!

Amazing Experience
January 23, 2019
We were really wowed by the Dolphin Encounter. Each person was able to kiss, hug, feed, touch, and dance with the dolphin. It was during Christmas and they were crazy busy, but the trainer took the time with each person. Worth the money!! We paid for the photos/video -- $150 for our entire group of 6. Once in a lifetime experience so we thought it was worth the extra expense. The beach area was crowded but very nice. Even in December the water was an amazing temperature. The snack bar prices were like an amusement park, inflated but what you'd expect. Food was ok. The only complaint I have is about the shuttle service that took us from the port to the check in area where you get on the Ferry. No one came to the location with a sign. A guy pulled up with the door to the van open and yelled at us to hurry up and get in he had to make check in on time. He didn't confirm our names till he had already taken off. It worked out fine but he was rude and short with us.

A highlight of our cruise!

We all loved this excursion! We were with our son and his wife and our two grandchildren ages 6 and 9! Other than a slight snag finding our ride to the ferry, all went smoothly! The dolphin encounter was amazing! Our 9 year old said afterwards “That was the most fun I have ever had in water!” We spent the rest of the day at the beautiful beach. Floats and inner tubes were provided free of charge. The beach was perfect for children-shallow, clean and perfectly clear water. We purchased rather bland, expensive food at the only place available. Only disappointment! A ferry took us directly back to our port!

Perfect experience

My wife and I did this excursion together. From the moment we walked into the enclosure to when we reluctantly left, the experience was pure magic. The interaction with our dolphin was amazing. We danced, we hugged, we kissed. Sounds like a great date, right? I would do this again in a New York minute.
