Embark on a captivating 2-hour journey through the vibrant history and stunning landscapes of Curacao. This tour offers a taste of the island's rich culture, from unique attractions to breathtaking scenery, and includes a special liqueur tasting experience. Join us on this engaging tour as we traverse the island, discovering Curacao's hidden gems, remarkable sights, and unforgettable vistas along the way.
Begin your adventure aboard a comfortable bus as you journey to Willemstad's historic Scharloo District. Once the prestigious residential area of the island's business elite, this neighborhood was founded centuries ago by Jewish merchants. Today, it stands as a showcase of beautifully restored mansions, many of which are recognized as UNESCO World Heritage monuments. Among these architectural treasures is the iconic Wedding Cake House, renowned for its ornate design and now home to the National Archives. Continuing your exploration, you'll encounter a row of charming, colorful one-story houses arranged in a stepped formation. These architectural gems have been thoughtfully restored in 1986 and have earned status as historical monuments. While their exact date of construction remains uncertain, their beauty and cultural significance continue to captivate visitors.
Your journey continues to the distinguished Chobolobo Mansion, an elegant country house constructed in the early 1800s, once at the center of a sprawling plantation. This historic mansion is best known as the home of the Curacao Liqueur Distillery, where you will have the chance to learn how the world famous Blue Curacao Liqueur has been expertly crafted since 1896. Savor a tasting and consider taking home a bottle as a lasting and memorable keepsake.
Afterward, the tour continues to the vibrant Mambo Beach Boulevard, where you'll enjoy a 20-minute stop, an ideal opportunity to capture photos of the stunning coastal scenery and lively atmosphere.
Next, cross the impressive Queen Juliana Bridge, the tallest bridge in the Caribbean, soaring 185 feet above sea level. Weighing 3,400 tons and spanning four traffic lanes, the bridge provides stunning panoramic views of the city and the harbor entrance below.
At the conclusion of the tour, you may choose to be dropped off near the Pontoon "Emma" Bridge for independent shopping, which is within walking distance. Please note that you will be responsible for returning to the ship if you select this option. Alternatively, you may opt for a direct drop-off at the ship. We are confident that your time in Curacao will be truly memorable and look forward to welcoming you back soon.
