Ensenada Tuk Tuk, Beach and Bar

Make the most of your time in Ensenada with this novel city tour.

Explore this Cinderella of the Pacific, as Ensenada is referred to, in a Tuk Tuk, a type of modern-day motorized rickshaw.

Your guide will take you to the must-see places and areas offering the best photo opportunities. Pass by sunbathers frolicking at Playa Hermosa Beach and the stunning Cathedral de la Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe church with its twin bell towers.

Your mini adventure will also take you to many other sites including the Ensenada flea market and downtown promenade. While you are out and about, stop for a margarita at Bar Andaluz; this bar is the birthplace of the famous drink.

You will also stop at Papas & Beer for a cold brew, founded in 1983 when its partners saw it necessary to open a fun establishment in Ensenada. In addition to good music and a lively environment, the main attraction was the ice-cold mugs of beer, large plates of french fries, and free bumper stickers.

It was great seeing all the sites and going around the city. It was really hard for my friend who doesnt walk well to walk several blocks to the tuk tuk location when the instructions made it sound super close to the ship.

Good Excursion

This was our first trip to Ensenada so I worried if we would be able to find our tour guide or not. However, the company had a booth outside of the security area and provided a shuttle to the company shop to meet our tour guide. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and nice. The city tour via tuk tuk was fun. Overall, we were happy that we purchased this tour.

Tuk Tuk Tour

Note that you really need to keep an eye out for the checkered flag that is painted against the wall for the tour meeting location; unfortunately, we did not find anyone holding up a sign as the meeting instructions had indicated! This tuk tuk tour was certainly breath-taking as you high-speed down the streets of Ensenada. The Cathedral was a beautiful place to visit, although we had hoped to learn more of its history. The family-run taco stall was extremely good, with tacos that were lightly battered, cooked fresh, and delicious. Our tour guide also took us to the El Mercado Negro, which is the famous fish market in Ensenada, even though it's not supposed to be part of this tour. It would have been nice at the beginning of the tour if the tour guide would have provided a recap of the places that we would be visiting and an overview of the anticipated schedule. Overall, this tour was a good length and the tour guide was great in helping us to take pictures to record our trip.

Wonderful Driver

In lieu of walking thru town, we opted for the 2 hr Tuk Tuk tour. We had to take abt a 10 min walk from the ship. We felt safe. Check in was efficient and friendly. We sat on a wooden bench outdoors while waiting for our tuk tuk. Surroundings ok....not lavish. Restroom ok if necessary. This is Mexico; no USA. Ride was somewhat uncomfortable as this is one step up from a motorcycle. You are not entirely shielded from the elements. Our driver and tour guide, Miguel, was excellent. Spoke very good english, clean and respectful, very knowledgeable about the local history. We had plenty of stops; the highlight being the historic hotel and home of the original marguerita. I left my back pack in the tuk tuk. Miguel came running and calling to return my pack....i was impressed with his integrity. This tour is tailored to adult interests; not children. There are two to four passengers per tuk tuk so you receive undivided attention and never have trouble hearing your tour guide.
