Recommended Dress We recommend wearing comfortable clothing with walking shoes and a light jacket. We also encourage you to bring a snack, water, a backpack, sunscreen, and a hat.

Full Day Furnas

Depart from Ponta Delgada and head to the oldest tea plantation in Europe. After visiting the factory, we can enjoy a cup of tea overlooking the gardens. Next, we have a great stop overlooking the Furnas crater. On a clear day we can view the island of Santa Maria.

We stop to see our food (cozido) coming out of the ground which has been cooking for 6-8 hours. Next stop is in a local typical restaurant for lunch. After lunch we have a small walk around the Caldeiras of Furnas.

Before returning to Ponta Delgada, we will have a stop at Nossa Sra da Paz chapel with a beautiful panoramic view over our first capital of Vila Franca.
