Explore Goff's Caye on this Belize tour

It's the Belize you won't believe! After meeting your guide for this Belize shore excursion, you will board a comfortable 38-foot powerboat for the 30-minute ride to the tropical island of Goff's Caye and its neighboring extraordinary reef. Along the way, you will pass mangrove islands, which are natural habitats for brown boobies, cormorants, and terns. Occasionally, bottlenose dolphins are spotted.

If you are looking for a fancy beach resort, this is not the Belize tour for you. However, if you're thinking more along the lines of a deserted island, then this is the spot. This unspoilt and powdery sand caye is a natural coral sand island, making it the ultimate beach experience for the entire family! Kids can build their dream sand castles or simply splash in the shallow, turquoise-blue waters.

Goff's Caye sits directly on top of the world's second-largest barrier reef, making it an ideal location for a world-class snorkeling experience with your Belize tour guide. After stopping at Goff Caye beach for those wanting to wade ashore, the boat will reposition to the nearby reef for optional snorkeling. Here you will see coral formations alive with tropical fish in crystal-clear shallow waters. Snorkel gear is included in this Belize excursion.

When you're finished with snorkeling, take a break on the island with its rustic charm. Here you will not find the overdeveloped, crowded mob scenes of a resort, but a tropical island with just the basics so you can enjoy a day "lost" in paradise!

The island is approximately 1.2 acres. There are no beach chairs; here you spread your towel out on the white sand beach or under a swaying palm. There are no restaurants, either; locals are here selling B-B-Q, chicken kabobs, or even grilled lobster tails (when in season). They also offer cold beers, sodas and coconuts for sale (food items are not included in the tour price). Facilities on the island are very basic. Rum punch is served after the snorkeling.

Please Note: Although Goff Caye does not get the several thousand guests that some of the more developed "beach clubs" sold by the cruise lines may, on multiship days there may be several hundred guests. This is not a private deserted island experience. It is a "what the Caribbean was like 30 years ago" experience.

This trip was AMAZING!!!!! The Island is the most beautiful place you will ever go to, it is in the middle of no where and looks like a dream. We snorkeling right off of the shore line. We walked pretty far out and the water was not be above out waist, my sister is 5' 4" and I am 5' 8". The water is crystal clear and you can see everything, lots of coral and colorful fish to see. While we were there there was at most 50 people on the Island. There are chair there but they charge $10 per chair and tell you that you will get $3 off any order from their small snack bar. There is also a table as their gift store. The meeting place was easy to find (at pier 4), anyone on the port will show you where to go. The boat ride was faster than you think. The only problem with the boat is that you need to be able to step up and down about a foot and a half off of the seat inside of the boat to the pier. I will do this day trip again in a heart beat!!!!

Small Island
March 13, 2020
Goff Caye Beach is a tiny private island with two restaurants. The island is beautiful, however upon arriving on the beach everyone who went to a beach chair and told the use of the beach chair was $10.00 per chair. Food also seemed somewhat expensive. Everyone encountered on the tour was soliciting for tips.

Great Day in Belize
August 29, 2019
This island is really beautiful, and was probably my favorite beach we visited on our cruise. It is rocky, so I recommend having water shoes available. Gilbert and our other guides were friendly and made us feel safe despite us having to outrun a thunderstorm on the way back to Belize. We had a group of 5 ranging in ages from 4 to 63, and everyone enjoyed their day. Several of us opted to just relax on the beach versus snorkeling. We did not eat while we were on the island, but the people that did seemed to really enjoy the lobster tails.
