Half Day Safari Adventure

Discover the lush landscapes of Madeira on this fun half-day Jeep safari. The island is known for its greenery, and you will get to experience it firsthand during this exciting trek. Book your Madeira tour now and make some new memories.

Madeira receives roughly a million visitors each year, and it is your turn to see why. This Jeep safari takes you away from the crowds and into some of the island's untouched areas. Since your Jeep has off-road capabilities, expect to make the most of the road less traveled.

Your Madeira Jeep safari begins with a scenic drive to Camara de Lobos, where you will have approximately 20 minutes to explore the famous fishing village and take photos of the bay. You will then travel to the Boca dos Namorados viewpoint, located approximately 1,000 meters above sea level, for views of Curral das Freiras and commentary from your guide about the history of this famous location.

As you pass through Estreito de Camara de Lobos and the highlands of Quinta Grande, the Jeep will leave the pavement and travel across rugged, unpaved roads through the eucalyptus forest toward Jardim da Serra. This off-road portion travels over uneven and bumpy terrain, adding to the adventurous nature of the experience. During the journey, you will learn about the introduction of the eucalyptus tree to Madeira and observe the island's flora and fauna.

Once you arrive in Jardim da Serra, you will stop at a local bar for a restroom break. Guests may purchase coffee or other refreshments at their own expense. Between Jardim da Serra and Lugar da Serra, you may also see chestnut, cherry, and pear trees that are characteristic of the region.

The tour then continues toward Quinta Grande and the Cabo Girao viewpoint, where you can enjoy impressive views over the Atlantic Ocean and Madeira's southern coast. Before returning to Funchal, you will make a final stop at the Faja dos Padres viewpoint for photos and beautiful coastal views.
