Harrisons Cave and Beach Day

While this beautiful island is notably famed for its fantastic beaches, Barbados offers so much more! Include two of the most popular activities on this tour, journey inside Harrisons Cave and relax on one of the island's amazing beaches.

Your journey begins as you travel to Harrisons Cave, an active cave system located in the heart of Barbados. Measuring 2.3 km long (1.5 miles) with a cave height of 15 meters (49 feet). This cave is one of the island's premier attractions, boarding an electric tram for an otherworldly ride through winding tunnels as you are driven through the interior. Unearth this adventure as your knowledgeable guide takes you on a tour where you will hear the rushing streams and witness the calm glassy pools as you retrace the steps the early explorers experienced. View beautiful pools, waterfalls and more as you make your way to the 15 meter high (49 feet) Great Hall, the cave's largest cavern. Observe stunning stalagmites and stalactites at every turn that are still growing to this day thanks to a continuous supply of water.

After emerging from under-ground you will next make your way to Savvy on the Bay on Carlisle Bay on the west side of Barbados. This popular beach boasts the whitest sand on the island as well as 6 shipwrecks just offshore. You will be greeted with a welcome drink and escorted to your reserved lounger and beach umbrella for some relaxation and fun under the sun. Belly up to the bar for a cold glass of pirate's brew or a juicy pirate burger then enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters (food is at guest's expense). You can also elect to take a snorkel cruise to admire the turtles, starfish, rays and other marine life or stay on land and pick up a souvenir or two at the local craft stalls.

Skip the usual crowded bus tours by signing up for this special Barbados cave and beach excursion now and make your fellow shipmates envious when you recount your days experiences.

Please Note: If you elect to take the snorkel cruise, this will cost approximately $20 US per person and includes snorkel equipment and a complimentary drink.

Barbados

Our group tour ended up being a private tour for just me and my husband. It was wonderful! The tour guide showed us so many great places in Barbados besides the beach and the caves. He even walked us out to our chairs on the beach. We had a great time on this tour.

rainy day but still a good tour

Harrisons Cave is an place to visit. It is an exciting tour and they provide everything you need to see a great underground wonder. They drive you in a trolley. The explanations were very good. Unfortunately it rained, so the beach was not as enjoyable, but that sometimes happens. It is interesting that our tour guide told us it was the dry season in Barbados. But they get rain sometimes in the dry season.

Guide was great

Our guide was great but the cave was a bit too modernized. I thought we were going to walk into the cave and not sit on a tram the whole time. I liked the history about the cave in the video.

Harrison's Cave a highlight

Harrison's Cave is truly a unique experience on a Caribbean cruise. The natural wonders of the cave are so accessible and educational. Our bus tour guide was quite informative as well and enhanced the visit. The time at the beach was pleasant and it was nice to have an umbrella for the shade.

Half the trip was very good; half was mediocre
August 02, 2019
The Cave trip is well done, very interesting, an easy ride thru the cave with excellent narration. The island has turned this natural site into a worthwhile tour, especially if you have not seen really exceptional caves. The Beach Day was rather disappointing. The "private chair with umbrella" was one among long rows, 3 to 5 deep from the water. It is a very large, busy beach. You can get in the water, but you have to watch for the catamarans, skidoos, and other craft coming to and from shore to pick up and drop off people purchasing various rides, snorkeling, etc. The 'free drink' ran out of rum punch mix and you had to go to a separate place for your beverage. They did have a lot of food options, and we had a good lunch with a locally caught fish. When I got back to our ship and looked at our reservation, I realized we had been picked up an hour early; however, the family was not upset as they did not particularly enjoy the beach portion of the trip.
