Heli-Volcano Caving

Words fall short and photos understate the rare opportunity to ride a helicopter through the Icelandic mountain-scape, before actually exploring the insides of a volcano that last erupted 4,000 years ago. This extravagant tour is for the traveler demanding a unique adventure.

A certified pilot will first fly you away from the picturesque city of dynamic Reykjavik before accelerating 25 miles toward the Blafjoll mountain range and skiing area. Naturally, the helicopter saves time. In this case, it saves an hour's drive and two hours walking over a lava field. It also gives you an extremely nice view on the way!

Reykjavik loosely translates to "Bay of Smoke," due to the continental rift separating America and Europe, which produces tectonic plate activity responsible for volcanic eruptions.

Upon reaching the volcano, you'll trek with your guide through the top crater of this dormant powerhouse and venture to the bottom of the magma chamber, where hot lava once flowed. If you've neglected to treat yourself to something special for a while, reserve this Reykjavik tour today.

Please Note: Just like the airlines, we do have a weight limit for all of our tours. Any passengers over 120 kg/ 265 lbs/ 19 stone are required to pay for 1.5 seats in the helicopter. This will ensure that everyone on the tour has a comfortable and safe ride!
