This child-friendly Amsterdam canal tour takes you through the city's renowned waterway system. There's a reason that Amsterdam is called the "Venice of the North." Its canal system rivals that of the Italian city; the waterways span more than 62 miles and provide a convenient, scenic way for residents and visitors alike to get around the city. On this particular Amsterdam tour, an on-board audio guide provides facts about each attraction as you pass by it, and there are plenty of attractions.
Among the 100 attractions you'll pass are the Westerkerk, the Anne Frank House, and the "Skinny Bridge." The Westerkerk is an impressive Protestant church that dates back to the 17th century. This site is home to the tallest church tower in the entire city (279 feet) and is the resting place of the prolific Dutch painter Rembrandt. The Anne Frank House opened in 1960 and is dedicated to the eponymous Jewish diarist. Here, Frank and her family hid in secret rooms to avoid Nazi persecution. Have your camera out for the "Skinny Bridge," a charming white-painted wooden bridge decorated with 1,200 light bulbs that are illuminated in the evening. Keep your eyes open so you don't miss a single sight on this fun and informative whirlwind tour. Hop on this Amsterdam cruise when you arrive in the city to get an overview of the entire city in just one hour.

The canal tour was much different than one I took 40 years ago; everything recorded these days - loses the personal touch. That being said, it was quite informative!

Great canal boat ride through the canals of Amsterdam. Start your day with the trip - really sets you up for a walking tour. Tour guide was very informative.

The cruise was ok but it would have actually been cheaper if I would have done it at the dock. There were nicer boats for the same money

A wonderful way to get an overview of a very beautiful city. The boat was very clean and we had ear phones that gave a selection of many languages so that everyone got to listen to the details in their own language. The captain nearly stopped at several places so that we could take photos. There are several different boat tours so choose which one you will take you past the highlights that mesh with your interests. A great way to spend an hour or more, but go early as they get very busy later in the day.
