Private Montevideo City Tour with Visit to Bodega Juanico Winery and 3 Course Meal (Culinary Group)

Explore the best of Montevideo on this private tour. The eclectic city of Montevideo is also the capital of Uruguay. It is a vibrant city with beautiful parks, stunning architecture, and historic monuments. Landmarks you'll visit include Ciudad Vieja (Old City), Solis Theater, Cenenario Stadium, and many others.

Your exciting journey begins as you depart for Ciudad Vieja which is a great place to walk and feel Montevideo's local culture. Delightful bakeries, street vendors, restaurants, and shops line the streets. Enjoy beautiful architecture as your private guide leads you to Independence Square, Montevideo's most important plaza that links old and new Montevideo. You will feel history come alive.

On one side of Independence Square is the Gateway of the Citadel. On the other, the beginning of 18 de Julio Avenue. Most of the highlights of your private tour are located within or near Independence Square. After exploring Independence Square and nearby attractions such as The Solis Theater and Palacio Salvo, you will continue to other parts of Montevideo.

El Prado is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Montevideo and a major public park. Tree-lined streets serve as home to a collection of mansions built in the 20th century. At Parque Batlle you can stroll through the largest public park in the city. While here pause at La Carreta, a stunning bronze monument depicting oxen pulling a covered wagon. It is considered the "lung" of Montevideo because of its abundant trees planted over 150 acres. Battle Park is also home to Cenenario Stadium, one of the most important stadiums for South American and international soccer. The stadium was inaugurated in 1930 for the World Cup.

Approximately one hour north of downtown Montevideo you will visit Bodega Juanico, one of the largest and most beautiful wineries in Uruguay, for a 3 course lunch and wine tasting. You will have time to relax and enjoy the grounds of the picturesque Juanico Estate and taste of some of the vineyard's best know wines.
