Saddle up for the ultimate eco-tour of Grand Bahama on horseback. A two-hour guided trail ride from the top of the island through the pine forest, around the castle and into the hardwood forest, over the sand dunes, and along the beach. The horses file into the ocean to loop back to the trail. Yes, you will get your feet wet - and love it!!
Along the way, the guides tell the story of Freeport, from the Lucayan Indians to the present-day modern city. Birds, butterflies, healing plants and bushes are identified as the horses follow the trail to the beach. The guides will tell stories of pirates and movie stars, junkanoo, rake and scrape, conch salad and all things Bahamian on this Freeport cruise excursion.
All the horses are related so ask the guides and they will be delighted to tell you about the equine family born either on the island or in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Please Note: The trail ride is suitable for all levels of riders and your safety is our priority. Horses stay to a walk and travel single file. If you bring a small, inexpensive camera, the guides will be glad to take pictures of you along the way. Water can be purchased at the stables and the bottle will fit in the saddle bag provided. Riding helmets are available and recommended. No experience is necessary but riding horses can be physically strenuous. The stables are also a cat sanctuary, so be forewarned if you have allergies.

My daughter felt that this tour was the best part of the entire cruise. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable about the horses, and the beach was beautiful. The entire tour was outstanding. We intend to book more tours from AAA on our next cruise.
Was a wonderful experience my girls 8 and 10 really enjoyed it and would like to get a horse now
