Zip, Waterfall and Horseback Riding

Not all zip lines are created equal, and we have special access to the highly acclaimed "Walk the Plank" zip line, considered to be the best zip line in Samana. After a brief orientation, you will board your safari truck and drive to the zip line, approximately 30 minutes away.

The first run of 12 total lines is over 1000 feet long and takes off from a pirate ship more than 350 feet up a hillside. You will fly above the Lulu Waterfall as you cover 7000 feet of line. The zip is made up of the highest-quality equipment on a three-cable zip line system. You will be fastened in with a double harness that has two cams running along two of the cables overhead. The integrated braking system allows you to have fun without worrying about reaching up to grab the cable to slow yourself down, as you have to do on some other zip lines. There are staff members on-hand to do tandem rides if you are nervous.

After your high-flying zip, you will visit the Lulu Waterfall to take a refreshing swim in its pool below. Dry off and walk through the jungle for approximately 10 minutes to reach the waiting horses.

After mounting your horse, you will set off on a trail along the river and through the countryside to a beach which is about 30-45 minutes away. The terrain for the ride is predominantly flat, and you may cross the river if the water level allows. Upon arrival at the beach, try running your horse on the sand (swimming with the horses is not permitted).

Enjoy this semi-secluded natural beach, where you can take in stunning views of the mountains diving into the ocean. Although the beach is not safe for swimming, the views of its natural beauty are not to be missed. Enjoy a typical Dominican buffet, consisting of fresh fish and chicken, served on the beach with as much local beer, soda and water as you can drink (and maybe even some local rum!).

Once you have finished your lunch, you will have the option to ride your horse (approximately 15 minutes) to a local co-op where you will be treated to a cultural presentation by some of the locals. After the presentation, all guests will reboard the safari bus and will be taken back to the pier.

Please Note: Most of the roads traveled on this tour are paved, but bumps are to be expected.

Awesome experiencee!
March 07, 2014
Tours with Terry' definitely exceeded our expectations. The tour included so much that we left feeling like we had thoroughly experienced all of the very best of the Dominican Republic. We signed up for ziplining, swimming at a waterfall, horseback riding, and ate a homecooked meal at the beach. Everything was incredibly professional, ran smoothly, and the staff worked together very well as a team. Particular kudos to Lobo, of whom went above and beyond in making our experience safe, enjoyable, and amazing. We started with ziplining, and this was our first time doing so -- Terry and his group made us feel very safe in describing the above-and-beyond approach to their safety measures; the view while zipping was breathtaking and a must-do. From there, we enjoyed rock climbing and swimming at a beautiful waterfall, enjoyed a leisurely stroll on horseback, and were treated to a homecooked and authentic meal by locals. To end out the excursion, Terry finished with a very neat presentation on speciality foods, horticulture, and samples thereof from the DR. Overall this was an unbelievably cool 'full-package' experience; highly highly recommend!
