Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this beautiful area in the Caribbean, is set on a 170-acre peninsula. It is located on the northwest side of St. John, making it a unique ecological zone and a perfect area to explore out in nature.

Your adventure begins with you hopping in your taxi shuttle from Cruz Bay to the iconic Honeymoon Beach. From there, you will board your kayaks and paddle across Caneel Bay to the beautiful and deserted Scott Beach. Located on the island's north shore, Scott Beach features a shallow, sandy coast with seagrass, typically teeming with turtles and rays.

One of the many beautiful things of exploring this area is seeing the local sea turtles, whose population has increased tremendously. It is common to see as many as two to twelve different turtles in the bay. As you snorkel in the waters, watch the sea turtles' surface to breathe and then dive back down in the shallow waters to graze among the seagrass. Don't be surprised if you are one of the lucky ones to spot dolphins while paddling across the bay.

As your day of exploring this rich natural landscape comes to an end, paddle back to Honeymoon Beach where you can choose to stay and relax, do some more snorkeling, or visit Bikinis on the Beach Bar and Grill for some food and drinks.

Sydney was a great guide. We saw multiple sea turtles, some fish in the reef, and had a lovely stroll down a secluded beach. Would definitely recommend!!!

The island was amazing, the wildlife didn’t disappoint but the best feature yet was the staff. They were so professional and friendly and courteous at all times! Can’t wait to go back to St Johns because of what a great time we had there. Thank you!

Amazing Day

Be aware that it takes a little effort (time/money) to get from the port at St. Thomas to St. John that isn't apparent until you purchase the excursion and receive the details. So that was concerning initially, but ultimately it was well worth it! My husband and I and our 6 year old were the only 3 on the tour. We kayaked to a remote beach (little has been rebuilt since the hurricane) and then snorkeled for well over an hour. Our tour guides Lance and Sara with Virgin Islands Ecotours took the time to explain what we were seeing while we snorkeled and made sure we encountered both sea turtles and sting rays. It was a perfect afternoon and definitely the highlight of our cruise.
