Adventure Kart 4x4 Expedition in Ketchikan

Sit back, strap yourself in, and hit the accelerator for the off-road adventure Kart Expedition of a lifetime! Mountain trails through a timber harvested area offer the perfect venue for off-road challenges. Learn about the history, culture and economy of Ketchikan as you are transported by motor coach to this rainforest wilderness. Experience the rugged Alaskan wilderness from the driver's seat of a specially designed off-road adventure kart on this Ketchikan port trip.

At the Adventure Kart expedition base camp, you will receive a safety briefing as you gear up in preparation for the exciting, 1.5 hour guided trek. Your caravan of karts sets out to explore the remote backcountry along several miles of improved forest trail, with your guide in the lead ATV. Feel the rush of adrenaline at the start of your journey as you navigate an obstacle course in a custom designed Tomcar that tests your ability to traverse through the remaining wilderness. A comfortable pace is maintained as you thread your way around steep curves, climbing to reveal unparalleled views of the Tongass National Forest, Behm Canal and Alaska's fabled Inside Passage.

Stops are made along the Ketchikan excursion way to soak up the grandeur and beauty of this lush land. Afterwards, drivers and passengers will have the opportunity to switch positions for the return trip. Be prepared to watch for wildlife along the way where eagles, deer or bears are frequently sighted.

Entertained and Informed!

My husband and I went on the Adventure Kart Expedition during our Alaskan cruise. We were picked up at a centralized location and taken to the excursion and after a tutorial, were able to drive the vehicles. What made this excursion different from other excursions similar to this was the history provided from an Alaskan native that was provided during the stops. I learned a lot about Alaska including the school system, that was not provided from other tours. Being an educator, I truly valued this experience. The karts were great too! I was entertained and informed!

Only 8 total in our group. We had a short ride to the Adventure Kart location. Guides were organized and thorough. We had a fun time and would recommend this to families with teens. Our group was mix of adults and teens.

Fun!

My husband and I weren’t quite sure what to expect, but it certainly was fun! I drove up and he drove down. We stopped along the way and were given a tutorial by - I believe her name was Aubrey- that was great! Since she had grown up there we heard about things she did in seventh grade- being dropped on the end of an island with just a few items and had to survive for three days. How one of the first things they learn is how many different kinds of salmon there are and their names. That was wonderful. Both young women that took us up were great! Loved the gear because it rained and splashing through water without a windshield was like being a toddler in a gigantic puddle again. It was loads of fun! I’m not a salmon eater- so this was a perfect excursion for us!
