Keep your camera ready-this intimate coastal cruise offers abundant photo opportunities and an unforgettable Alaskan experience.
Departing from a private dock in Ward Cove, you'll join your captain and crew for a scenic journey through the wildlife-rich waters of the Tongass Narrows. As you cruise along the shoreline, watch for multiple active eagle nests, along with the possibility of spotting harbor seals, sea lions, seabirds, moon jellyfish, and, if you're lucky, humpback or orca whales. Complimentary binoculars are provided to help you get a closer look.
You'll enjoy sweeping water views of Totem Bright State Park, where 14 towering Tlingit and Haida totem poles and a traditional clan house line the lush forested shore. The cruise continues to Guard Island Lighthouse, built in 1901 and perched on its own island in the heart of the channel.
Through the journey, your captain and crew will share fascinating stories of Alaska's maritime heritage, Indigenous cultures, and life in coastal communities shaped by the timber and fishing industries. To enhance the experience, you'll be offered complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, tea, or soft drinks along with a locally inspired snack featuring alder-smoked salmon, bull kelp, pickles, crackers, and artisan chocolate.
The 36-passenger vessel features onboard restrooms and a small gift shop, and the friendly crew is always happy to take your photo, whether in front of the totems, lighthouse, or with the captain in the wheelhouse. This unique cruise blends wildlife viewing, cultural insight, and natural beauty in an authentic Alaskan adventure, found only in Ketchikan.
