Melissani Lake and Myrtos Beach Tour

This 4.5-hour tour is perfect for those who want to skip the crowded city tours in favor of a relaxing day on the water.

Traveling in a northerly direction you will pass the town of Sami, famous from the Hollywood movie, “Captain Corelli's Mandolin” and you will arrive to the subterranean Lake of Melissani. Enjoy a boat ride across the mystical underground lake, where sunlight entering the caves turns the water bold blue and scatters rays of light around the whole interior. The headwater is in Argostoli, and it enters the cave by traveling underground across the island and through holes from the western coastline.

Leaving Melissani and driving through the picturesqe fishing village of Agia Efimia, situated on a small harbor against a backdrop of mountains. After some quick photos you will head to the famous shores of Myrtos Beach. Myrtos is often lauded as one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece with its mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles that cuts deep into a sheer cliff on the island’s northwest coast. The lush green area, the abrupt terrain, the white pebbles and the crystal waters compose a stunning scenery. You will spend about an 1 hour and 30 minutes at Myrtos beach where you can grab a drink, relax and work on your tan or take a refreshing swim in the deep blue waters.

Please note: Guests must be able to step in and out of a boat and be able to swim if they want to go into the water at the beach. No wheelchair access available. Beach facilities include a small shack bar serving refreshments, sunbeds, umbrellas, toilets, showers and a lifeguard.

Book today and get ready to have some fun in the sun - and caves - in Kefalonia.

This is a good tour if you have limited time and want to do more than one thing at this port. The beach is absolutely beautiful. It is a short stop. The lake is also unique and beautiful. Also, a short stop. If you are trying to see and do as much as you can, this is a good tour.

The beach is beautiful but what they need to tell you is that it is a rock beach and you NEED to wear water shoes to get in the water. The rocks are round and white and beautiful but still are tough on the feet. The lake portion is pretty but such a tourist attraction that it is very crowded and not sure its really worth the long line/wait for a 5 min boat ride.
