Best of Big Island and Volcanoes National Park
Sale Price: $147.00
Join us on this tour of magnificent Volcanoes National Park. This tour highlights some of the Big Island's most precious gems, such as rainforest waterfalls, orchids, black sand beaches, craters, lava tubes, and much more!
First pass through the historic town of Hilo and stop by a breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. Then make your way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The park dramatically displays the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration, and evolution - processes that thrust a bare land from the sea and clothed it with unique ecosystems, and a distinct human culture. The park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes.
At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, see the highly acclaimed Jaggar Museum, and witness the spectacular Thurston Lava Tube, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.
Your next stop will be the Akatsuka Orchid Garden, which displays more than 500 orchids. Some are valued at more than $20,000 US! Hawaii is one of the largest producers of macadamia nuts, and you will get to drive through the orchard and visit the farm. Here you can see the production and taste many different types of flavored macadamia nuts.
The last stop is the Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite, and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand. You will enjoy the spectacular views on your drive back to the port.
PLEASE NOTE: Please be assured that both Hilo and Kona remain largely unaffected by the current eruption of Kilauea volcano and that it is still safe to travel to the Big Island of Hawaii (Hawaii Island). The Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is now open; however, this tour will continue to operate with a modified itinerary since there are still several areas blocked off on the eastern rift zone of the volcano.

Excellent tour and very informative guide. The information we printed from your web site indicated that a lunch voucher was included but the guide said that had not been provided in the last 10 years. You must give accurate information in your promotions.

It took us a while to find the tour guide but after that, we had an enjoyable time. We were on a mini bus which was only half full so we were not cramped. We visited numerous places as well as the volcano. The weather was not the best, rain on and off. Our guide was great and continually kept up a running commentary for us. Great tour.

Edmund, our driver, took us on an excellent tour of the island of Hawaii. First we stopped at Rainbow Falls which was lovely. The next stop was an orchid garden with beautiful displays of different kinds of orchids. Also the anthurium were spectacular. The macadamia nut farm and factory was a handy place to stop for lunch and sample various macadamia preparations. Also a good place for gifts boxes of nuts. Then on to the Lava Tube. Simply fascinating tour although you do have to be pretty fit. The path down to the tube is very steep and the stairs up are steep too. The tube is a very interesting cave-like feature but the informative panels are quite helpful. A quick stop at the steam vents was interesting and enough to wilt everything. We arrived at the volcano and museum in time to see the volcano erupt a bit! The museum was okay. Edmund was friendly, informative, interesting and gave everyone plenty of time at each stop. High marks all around for a great day.
Edmond was a great guide. Lots of interesting things to say and answered everyone's questions. Small group (van holds up to 15). Never felt rushed, yet got everything in. Drove too Volcano National Park via one route and back by another, so we could see more of the island. We saw all we had wanted to see and felt it was a great value.
