Best of Big Island and Volcanoes National Park

Join us on this magnificent Volcanoes National Park tour. This tour highlights some of the Big Island's most precious gems, such as rainforest waterfalls, orchids, black sand beaches, craters, lava tubes, and much more!

First pass through the historic town of Hilo and stop by a breathtaking 80 ft waterfall, Rainbow Falls. Then make your way to the summit of Kilauea volcano at the Volcanoes National Park, the most highly regarded and revered volcanic area on Earth. The park dramatically displays the results of 70 million years of volcanism, migration, and evolution - processes that thrust a bare land from the sea and clothed it with unique ecosystems, and a distinct human culture. The park highlights two of the world's most active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, and offers insights on the birth of the Hawaiian Islands and views of dramatic volcanic landscapes.

At the park, you will stop at the Visitor Center, see the highly acclaimed Jaggar Museum, and witness the spectacular Thurston Lava Tube, steam vents, sulfur banks, and fascinating scenic lookouts. No trip to Hawaii is complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park.

Your next stop will be the Akatsuka Orchid Garden, which displays more than 500 orchids. Some are valued at more than $20,000 US! Hawaii is one of the largest producers of macadamia nuts, and you will get to drive through the orchard and visit the farm. Here you can see the production and taste of many different types of flavored macadamia nuts.

The last stop is the Richardson Black Sand Beach, where sea turtles are usually spotted. The Black Sand Beach is a local favorite and is a great way to see how the ocean and volcanoes make fine black sand. You will enjoy the spectacular views on your drive back to the port.

Great Excursion

We really enjoyed this excursion. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us great information. He also showed us a video of the volcano and it was even more powerful when we actually saw the park. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Nice highlight of the city. Our guide also lost his house in the volcano eruption so it was interesting to talk to him about it.

After getting past some body odor issues with our tour guide, we enjoyed ourselves on this tour. We found out that he had lost his home and art studio to the volcano. He was informative and a good story teller. We saw a park in Hilo, King Kamehamea statue, Mauna Loa macadamia nut farm, Volcano National Park and Black Sand Beach. I would recommend this tour. It was a smaller group

We enjoyed the tour. It was a damp day with light sprinkles some of the time. But nothing could be done about that. Ha.

Great tour; Giovanni was great!

Great tour by Giovanni. Very good use of time. There wasn't much dead time or times when we wanted to stay much longer. Giovanni's home was destroyed by the 2018 volcano so he was very familiar with the volcano and added a personal side to his tour. Couldn't say enough good things about his tour.
