Nature's Kingdom and Beach
Take a ride on the wild side to this miniature, island-style wildlife observatory known as Nature's Kingdom. A short twenty-minute drive in an open-air safari through historic Basseterre will transport you back in time, passing several historic sites, including Independent Square, Basseterre Co-Cathedral of Immaculate Conception built-in 1927, and the Governor General's House.
Upon arrival, you are greeted to a breathtaking panoramic view of Basseterre, which includes the airport, seaport, and most of the town. As you step into the wonders of Nature's Kingdom, Claudius, otherwise known as "Da Nature Man," will guide you through his nature trails, expertly identifying the many fruit trees and plant species from around the world, while educating you on the medicinal value of each plant.
During the tour, you will learn about the history of the four hundred (400) year old sugar industry, along with the process of extracting the juice from the sugar cane, which you are free to sample, as well as any fruit that is in season. Here, you will enjoy a complimentary beverage and barbecue chicken, traditionally made just for you.
Then it's off to Carambola Beach! Here, you will bask in the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea. Once you pick your favorite spot along the beautiful stretch of beach, you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas or sink your toes in the warm sand and soak up the sun. This place has a bar service where you can enjoy local dishes and beverages available for purchase, as well as several water sports activities. There's something for everyone!
As your day comes to an end, make sure you have soaked in the beauty and tranquility of this incredible place by the Caribbean Sea.
