An approximately 10 to 15 minute walk or a taxi or shuttle (not included, approximately 200 NOK each way) is required to reach your departure location.Norway Nature Walk
Calling all nature lovers! Spend the day in the Marka wilderness, Europe's largest urban forest.
Your journey begins with a stunning and scenic metro ride up Oslo's hills, starting at sea level. Ascend 500 meters above the city and fjord, pausing along the way to see Holmenkollen, an impressive ski jumping hill.
Once at the top it's your turn to conquer a steep climb through the dense forest, following along dirt paths and navigating rocky passages as you make your way to Vettakollen, a "locals only" viewing point. Keep an eye out for lnyx, deer and more! Enjoy a brief stop at Frognerseteren, an enchanting neighborhood with 19th century wooden Nordic architecture.
Upon reaching Vettakollen your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Oslo and the glittering fjord. While here, savor the views as you enjoy your lunch (bring your own or purchase one at a local cafe).
After you have had the time to take in the sights, you will continue through the forest to the shores of Lake Sognsvann, a 3.3 kilometer circumference lake that is the one of the prettiest in Oslo.
Conclude your tour with a refreshing swim in the cool, crystal-clear waters before a metro ride back to the city center.
