Transform your Noumea excursion into one filled with aquatic life encounters when you book this exciting tour. Your tour includes a hop-on, hop-off bus ticket with a stop at the popular Noumea attraction known as the Aquarium of the Lagoons. Get access to the Aquarium daily with the exceptions of public holidays and Mondays to see 33 tanks and exhibits of coral reef, eels, clownfish and other marine life that lurk near one of the world's most diverse coral reef systems located in one central area. With so much to do and see, this is the ideal trip for families or marine enthusiasts.

Begin your adventure with a scenic ride from your port destination to Anse Vata Bay, where you'll find the Lagoon Aquarium--one of Noumea's most popular attractions. Acclaimed biologist Dr. Rene Catala and his wife created this popular urban Aquarium in 1956, which was renovated in 2007 to transform into a modern aquatic center featuring sea creatures from its lagoons. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the lagoons of New Caledonia offer some of the most diverse marine life populations worldwide and is home to the reef structures that are some of the most diverse in the world in one setting. You'll come across 33 tanks filled with marine life like crustaceans, colorful corals and fluorescent nautilus that call New Caledonia's lagoons their home.

Take a stroll through the Aquarium to admire the salt water, marine life and underwater sea plants, including seagrass, giant shrimp, and damselfish. The Aquarium features a healthcare center for rehabilitating marine life and is set up for easy exploration with zoned sections based on aquatic life, including the Mangrove, Salt Water, and Seagrass that highlights the underwater plants that attract dugong--the herbivorous, manatee-like marine mammals with a forked tail. Head to the Ocean waters room to discover fun facts about the sharks and nautilus as you take interactive quizzes or walk among the Aquarium's serene garden to catch a glimpse of the turtle pool. With close to 32,300 square feet of space to view the marine life exhibits, there's much to see and do at the Aquarium before hopping on a comfortable bus back to Noumea.

Whether you're a marine life enthusiast or just curious to learn about the ecosystem of Noumea, visiting the Noumea Aquarium of the Lagoon offers much to do. Sign up for your hop-on, hop-off tour of the Aquarium today and explore one of Noumea's top attractions for an unforgettable experience.

Please Note: The bus runs every 20-25 minutes and it takes approximately 45-50 minutes to complete the route without getting off. The entrance fee to Aquarium is included; however, entrance fees to the Duck Island and the Museum of New Caledonia are not included. The Noumea Morning Market is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 5:00 AM to midday and is closed every Monday. First and last tour times will be detailed in your electronic ticket.
