Paddle Board Adventure
Paddle Board Adventure
Did you know "SUP" Stand Up Paddleboarding is the fastest growing water sport? Fun for all ages and something most anyone can do, whether you are new to open ocean paddleboarding or you are looking to sharpen your SUP skills, what better place to do so than in Ketchikan, Alaska. Your adventure includes high-quality boards and gear plus SUP certified guides who also have water rescue certification.
The excitement of the day begins as you board a van at the pier for the short drive to the dock in historic Ward Cove, the site of Alaska's first pulp mill. Once you arrive, meet the team and gear up and be provided with a brief paddleboard-101 lesson on the dock.
Don your life jacket and then make your way into the ocean on your Stand-Up Paddleboard and be amazed by the shoreline of the panoramic Tongass National Forest. Soak in your surroundings as you may see eagles soaring overhead, harbor seals swimming close by and colorful starfish and sea urchins along the shoreline. Occasionally, if you are lucky, you might even spot a humpback whale in the distance.
Paddle for approximately one mile and then have the chance to relax and enjoy some water fun. While enjoying an amazing view of the Tongass Narrow Islands, your guide will have water and a snack for nourishment. Jump in the cool ocean water or just sit down on your board and breath the fresh Alaskan air.
After your break, begin to make your way back to the dock where upon arrival enjoy a hot drink (coffee, hot chocolate, or tea). Your tour will end with transportation back downtown to your cruise ship dock. This is a truly unique experience you can have nowhere else, don't miss out on your chance for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and book today as space is limited.
