Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast
The eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. buried the entire city of Pompeii in ashes and ended the lives of 20,000 of its residents. Explore this now well-preserved UNESCO archeological site and see intact buildings, art, scenes of everyday life, and even the people themselves.
Once you have arrived in Pompeii, you will be accompanied the entire way with an English-speaking expert local guide, who will make sure you make the most of your visit to this important site.
From here you will take a ride along a picturesque coastal road to Sorrento, complete with stunning views of the Bay of Naples and the Island of Capri. Stroll through Sorrento's old city centre and admire the ancient churches and monasteries. While here, take some time for a traditional Italian lunch (at your own expense), then head over to the Cloister of San Francesco, Gothic style church that is a popular venue for weddings. Stand inside the courtyard and be surrounded by 360 degrees of beautiful medieval arches. Inside the Correale di Terranova Museum you can see Greek and Roman archeological findings from the area.
Finally, take in spectacular views of Positano and the Amalfi coast on your way back to the port. Spend the day visiting highlights along the stunning Amalfi Coast by booking this small group, full-day tour now.
Please Note: Admission to the Pompeii archaeological site is not included in the tour price. Guests must bring at least 19 EUR (price is approximate and may change without notice) per person in cash to be paid at the site on the day of the tour. Due to EU Anti-Pollution laws and regulations, tour operators are required to turn off vehicles when making stops. The tour may be conducted in reverse order, at the guide's discretion, for logistical reasons. Due to possible heavy traffic on weekends, festive days & other occasions, the stop at Positano may be skipped in order to make sure guests get back to their ship on time.
