Palermo is the capital of the Italian island of Sicily. Palermo by its diverse history and culture that it often feels conflicted. You will discover an intriguing range of architectural styles, from Arabian domes to baroque buildings, and enjoy delicious cuisine that spans a variety of origins.
Your adventure begins with a pickup by your tour guide from the Port of Palermo. From there, you will take a scenic drive to Cefalu, a coastal city in northern Sicily. Known for its beautiful sunsets, Cefalu carries an unpretentious charm and very appealing architecture.
Set in the medieval district, Cefalu's excellent tourist attraction is the town's Duomo, an impressive two-toward Norman cathedral built in 1131. Another essential stop is Cefalu's town museum, the Museo Mandralisca. The collection is neither vast nor demanding, but it includes several gems, including a portrait by Antonello da Messina and a striking vase from the fourth century B.C.
Hop back in and be ready to be amazed by this small seaside resort with a beautiful beach. The coastline at Mondello used to be marshy and plagued by malaria, so the settlement doesn't have the historical pedigree of other Sicilian towns. It was only at the end of the nineteenth century that the land was subject to improvement. The symbol of Mondello is the striking Art Nouveau building on a pier in the middle of the bay, the Charleston. Enjoy some relaxing time in Mondello before going back to your dock.
