Private Barlo and The Langhe Driver/Guide

Drink in Italy's most beautiful and most important wine regions with this tour of the Piedmont and The Langhe. You and your guests can enjoy this spectacular wine region as much as you'd like, as a driver will take you through Piedmont and Langhe in an air-conditioned vehicle. Grab a glass of Barolo and relax!

Leaving from the the port of Savona in Genoa, a drive of about one hour and 45 minutes will take you from Genoa into the heart of Langhe. If you love wine, you will be blown away by the rolling hills of Langhe and the a patchwork of vineyards built into them. Not only is this area famous for wine, it's also known for rich cheese and delicate, precious white truffles.

Nebbiolo grapes are native to Piedmont, named for the intense fog that settles into the hills in the fall when the grapes are harvested. Barolo is one of Italy's most famous and most important wines, and it is in the village of Langhe where this DOCG wine, a wine that has controlled and guaranteed designation of origin, is produced.

During your visit, your driver will suggest a local cellar where you can participate in a guided tour: learn, see, and taste the wine. This is a unique opportunity to find out about grape harvesting, bottling, and aging one of Italy's definitive wines.

After you have purchased lunch, the afternoon will see a visit to La Morra, a charming medieval city with hamlets that fan out into the countryside. In Piazza Castello, there is a baroque belltower with panoramic viewpoint of the Langhe, extending to the Alps, with the country's treed hills, rows of vineyards combed into the hills, roads weaving between them.

At the end of your experience, you'll drive back through the vineyards of Langhe and return to Genoa.

Please Note: This tour is self-paced with a custom itinerary of your choosing. The tour does not include entrance fees, parking fees, tolls, or gratuities.

Though your English-speaking driver can provide commentary while driving you around, they cannot act as a guide outside of the car. The driver will be happy to make suggestions about the best places to eat throughout the day.
