Private Special Dominica Favorites
On this private and intimate excursion, you will enjoy some of Dominica's most popular and famous attractions such as the Emerald Pool, Trafalgar Falls, and the Botanical Gardens.
Begin your day as you proceed from Roseau to the Emerald Pool, driving through Canefield. This wonderful waterfall grotto is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Morne Trois Piton National Park. An easy, approximately 30-minute hike takes you through magnificent overhanging trees and lush vegetation to the shimmering pool, which appears green in the tree-filtered sunlight. If you wish, you can take a dip and swim right up to the waterfall!
As you leave from this stop you will travel along the road where there are two breath-taking viewing points where the Atlantic Coast and Morne Laurent can be seen, rising to an elevation of 2,248 ft.
Your next stop will be the Trafalgar Falls. Only a short, approximately 10 to 15-minute walk along a well-maintained path from the Visitor Reception center brings you to where you can photograph both falls from a viewing platform. The more daring can continue onward to swim in the refreshing waters of the smaller waterfall or find the hot springs at the tallest falls.
Take a short drive to River Rock Cafe for a refreshing beverage (local juices, tea, or soft drinks), and some free time.
As you make your way back to Roseau, pass through the Botanical Gardens to view the Sisserou and the Jaco Parrots, both indigenous to Dominica, and learn a little more of the island's history.
