Rainforest Island Adventure & Wilderness Boat Ride in Ketchikan AK

Come be a part of this phenomenal Wilderness Adventure Cruise and Rainforest Exploration by participating in this Ketchikan tour. It's a part you'll be thrilled to play!

Before boarding your motorized ocean raft, called a Seahawk, you will be given safety information and put on life jackets. You will then travel along the coast of Clover Passage. During the ride, you may be lucky enough to see wildlife such as bald eagles, whales, sea lions, and seals.

Upon arrival on a remote island in the Tongass National Forest, you will join an experienced Alaskan trail guide for a walk through natural, unspoiled beauty in the coastal rainforest. The trail takes you through a tour of Ketchikan's beautiful old-growth forest, by way of a secluded beach, and is mostly boardwalk, about one-mile in length and well maintained. Home to a diverse cross-section of animals including bears, eagles, salmon, sandhill cranes, wolves, and trumpeter swans, you will learn about the many amazing botanical species native to this region.

Follow your knowledgeable tour guide through this rainforest island adventure and learn about botanic species native to this region, such as western red cedar and yellow cedar that early natives were so dependent upon for spiritual enrichment, shelter, and transportation. Learn how Sitka spruce was instrumental in the construction of Howard Hughes' famous Spruce Goose and early vintage fighter planes on this Ketchikan shore excursion.

After your approximately 45-minute hike, you will have some free time to wander on your own or enjoy a light snack. Then it's back in the 24-passenger inflatable for the trip back to the landing pier. Keep your eyes open as whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, porpoises, bald eagles and migrating seabirds may be spotted on this route. Bring your camera and binoculars to capture the wildlife on this Ketchikan tour! Once back on land, drive back to Ketchikan.

Cool! Excursion guide was a local which gave us an insight of daily life in the city of Ketchikan. He stopped to show us the salmon spawning in the local river. Ed Bean was an excellent tour guide! Loved the Rain forest tour. So green & Alive! Tour guides were amazing. Happy to see young folks pursuing their dreams and living to preserve the environment. We also toured the town a little and visited the cultural center with movies, artifacts and totem poles.

The winderness adventure and rainforest adventure was fun! it was pouring rain alot of the time ut they provided rain gear. The tour guide on the island was great, very informative. My only complaint would be that the bus was late to pick us up and take us back to the ship and we had to rush right back on the ship and had no time to look at shops for souvenirs. According to the time allotted, we should have had some extra time. It was nerve wracking as well as we were not sure if we would make it when we were sitting in traffic. other than that a great excursion!

My family of 5 enjoyed this excursion immensely. They all took time to explain things and to point out things that we normally wouldn't have paid attention to. Rainforest was easily to walk through.

this was fantastic. Cpt Bruce, Spice, Carley, and Joe were magnificent. Thank you so much for taking the time to let us see the 6 humpbacks whales and then get to watch them eat! The rainforest is beautiful. To be surrounded by so many trees - I still talk about this portion of my trip.
