Explore Roatan by Land and Sea

The island of Roatan is full of adventure and beauty for people of all ages, and this Roatan excursion will ensure that you experience it in comfort. Take a land tour of the island followed by a trip into the pristine waters of West End Bay for sightseeing and snorkeling, and experience the best that the Caribbean has to offer.

After meeting your guide, take a trip around the island in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, visiting various communities and points of interest along the way. Your knowledgeable guide will share interesting facts and stories about the island's enthralling history and culture, allowing you opportunities to take photographs and meet some of the local people.

There are many overlooks and panoramic views that will take your breath away, and many historical sites and fun attractions to visit. There's plenty to see on the island, including cultural sites such as churches, schools, and an orphanage, as well as ample shopping venues where you can purchase souvenirs.

After the island tour, travel to West End Beach, where you will board a fifteen passenger boat and enjoy a sea excursion of the crystal blue waters surrounding the island. A welcome beverage of rum punch or fruit punch will be provided, and you can sip it as you view magnificent homes, mighty mangrove trees, and other beautiful sights along the coast.

Following your boat tour of Roatan, see the dolphins featured at the Institute of Marine Science and watch them play in their natural ocean habitat. Later, take a swim and snorkel over the second largest barrier reef in the world. Snorkeling equipment will be provided, and a guide will show you the best snorkeling spots while assisting you with anything you need. The waters of Roatan are home to many types of coral, starfish, sea turtles, sea squid, and numerous species of fish and other marine life. You will find this underwater adventure fascinating.

Before you are returned to your ship, you will be provided with free time and a beach pass (included), allowing you to enjoy the beach after the tour is over. The pass will give you approximately 30-45 minutes to relax on the beach and access to freshwater showers, shaded areas, free wifi, and beach chairs (limited availability).

Please Note: The light lunch included in this tour is a signature Honduras snack - baleadas. Baleadas consist of refried beans and cheese folded up in a flour tortilla like a taco. Additional options are available at the restaurant (not included).

A fantastic day in Roatan!
February 21, 2023
We had the best day with our guide, Sherna, and driver Jose! The tour was easy to find as we disembarked the ship. Sherna was a local and very knowledgeable about all things Roatan. We enjoyed a thorough land tour, some shopping for souvenirs, then arrived at the beach for our sea portion of the tour. Sherna then handed us over to a different guide, who was just as knowledgeable and pleasant. We received a snack, learned a lot more of the history of Roatan, saw dolphins, lots of fish and even a large sea turtle bobbing along on top of the water. Then we had a time of snorkeling. As we arrived back at the beach, Sherna was waiting at the pier. The lunch arrived quickly upon our return. I had the best fish tacos I've ever eaten! We were back at the ship with plenty of time to spare. This was a great tour and we enjoyed a wonderful day in Roatan! Don't hesitate to book this one!

The best shore excursion of our entire 7 day cruis
February 14, 2023
We had Thalia, and she was absolutely AMAZING! There were supposed to be 6 people in our group, for some reason the other 4 people going out with us that day didn't show up or drank too much tequila in Cozumel the day before? Thalia was our tour guide and she made our trip to Roatan the best it could possibly be. For starters, cruisers must run a gauntlet of locals just to make it off the ship, and having a local guide and a respected company such as this outfit is highly recommended. Thalia was informative about Honduras, as well as the culture and values of the island. We felt safe, she took us to local gift shops, and our entire tour felt comfortable and we never felt rushed. The snorkeling was just as described, and we just had such an amazing experience with our local guide and driver. This was overall our favorite shore excursion of our entire cruise and if you're able to personally request Thalia I know your experience will be a great and memorable one as well!

Great guides and activities

We had the BEST guide - he was so knowledgeable about the island's history, economy, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it. It was very accessible with an air-conditioned van, and everything for snorkeling was provided. The private beach was near a chocolate factory and good restaurant (not included). We got in an extra trip to the animal park where we got to hug a sloth (so memorable), and let capuchin monkeys use us as jungle gyms! Remember to bring xtra cash to tip the hard workers (who deserve it) along the way! The animal park folks were less enthusiastic about their job, but it was a fun experience.

Great Tour
December 25, 2022
Our tour guide, Joshua, was great. He was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed seeing both the popular tourist areas and some of the less traveled local areas throughout Roatan before heading to the water. The snorkeling was great and the boat ride allowed us to check out the beautiful scenery and island life from the waters. The tour was flexible accommodating to some of our interests as time permitted and best of all, they got us back to our boat on time. Overall a great experience!
