Adventure and informative
April 01, 2020
This was one of our favorite excursions. We were in a van with four other people. The drive to the farm for kayaking was beautiful and very informative. Our guide explained about the invasive species of plants and whats being done to control them. The farm where we kayaked is involved in protecting the penguins that are unique to this area. Very cool. The kayaking was fantastic. The water is a turquoise blue. We saw seals, penguins, and other water fowl. It was a wonderful day!

Sea Kayaking adventure
February 11, 2020
Trip in the vehicle to Flea Bay was an interesting drive on a gravel road around steep hills/mountains. Absolutely beautiful with informative talk about ecology and human impact. Very interesting to hear the current approach regarding farmers and land management co-management --- all in a french accent - yes the French have a link to this beaufiful Akaroa. Then went on to a farm and Kayaking in Flea Bay. Fantastic! Some little dolphins came into the Bay and swam with us. Seals were up on the rocks with the juveniles barking in their puppy voices with the "big daddy " up on another rock. A little blue penguin swm right across our path. My husband and I loved it all to bits.

Loved this 1/2 day!

Having a 1/2 day tour meant we also had time to explore Akaroa, NZ. Our guide was knowledgeable about the town, the flora and fauna. We enjoyed panoramic views of the area then headed to a private bay to kayak among blue fairy penguins and young seals.
