Secrets of Cadiz

Experience more than 3000 years of history in just one tour. This Cadiz tour introduces you to Europe's oldest city, a city rich with attractions both modern and ancient. Here's your chance to travel back in time and watch history unfold for yourself.

Your tour begins near the port, where you'll meet your guide. From there, you'll board an air-conditioned minibus and proceed toward the first of many points of interest: Puerta de Tierra, which served to protect the city of Cadiz from invaders. From there, you will continue onward to Campo Sur to witness the incredible La Caleta Beach. Although it's a tiny beach, it has served as a big inspiration to the likes of artists and writers like Paco Alba and Carlos Cano. Other notable attractions include Falla Theatre, Genoves Park and Mina Square.

The star of the Cadiz sightseeing tour, however, is the final stop: Populo. This medieval quarter that dates back to the 13th century and is widely known for its stone gates, which Christopher Columbus walked through to start his second journey. There's a lot of exploration to do on the 2 hour walking portion of your Cadiz tour, and you will get hungry.

At the conclusion of the tour, there is a wine and cheese tasting event. The guests are brought to 360-degree roof top of a hotel, where they have a few different glasses of sherry (a traditional wine from Andalucia) and some locally made cheese. We utilize lifts to ascend rather than climbing stairs.

The list of attractions above is by no means exclusive; there are dozens more that you will encounter throughout the extensive tour. For a comprehensive look at the city, make your reservation today.

Fascinating City

This was a great excursion - first an overview of this fascinating city by van, followed by a walking tour to see the cathedrals and other sites close up. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and patiently answered our many questions. We especially enjoyed the cheese and sherry tasting.

Secrets of Cadiz

We were met by Conchita at the appointed place and time. I was surprised that my wife and I were the only people on the tour. We had, therefore, the benefit of what amounted to a personal tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion more so because we could ask questions as we walked around the town rather than getting a prepared script that we would get from bigger groups. We found Conchita very knowledgeable and her English was excellent! A great excursion and a lovely day in Cadiz! Thank you!

Average Tour of Cadiz

Booked this tour thru, Shore Excursions. Met at the outside the travel and tourism office right off the port. The two tour guides Carolina & Mario were not very identifiable. We rode around on the bus for a few stops & them began a walking tour. At the beginning it was extremely hard to hear and understand the tour guides. VOX headsets would have been a help. Visited Santa Caterina castle. We then separated into two groups, Mario began the walking tour and Carolina went with the bus and the others elsewhere. Mario was excellent and took us around Cadiz. He took us to the market which was impressive. He gave recommendations to eat & drink reasonably at the kiosks at the market. We received a lot of history of Cadiz. This tour was good, but appeared to be thrown together and lacked structure. I use Viator a lot and have found their tours to be far more professional. If this tour operator wants to succeed, has to get their act together and be more organized.

Excellent Tour & Excellent Guide
May 14, 2018
The Cadiz trip turned out great, as the guide was excellent. But started 30 minutes late due to mix-ups. Our names and the Brown’s and 8 other people’s names were not on the list. They did take us but it was uncomfortable until they agreed to take us on the tour.
