Beautiful, rugged hike

We happened to be the only two on the hike with our guide who was a knowledgeable native happy to share information. The paths are rugged, but the views are incredible!

Awesome hike in beautiful scenery
May 21, 2018
My wife and I booked this hike instead of taking an excursion from the cruise ship. We both love hiking and this was a relatively easy hike up the island's peak and through the gardens. As a plus, we drove the scenic route back to the ship and enjoyed the twin crater lakes. Our guide was first-rate (there were only three of us plus the guide). She was very knowledgable about the island having grown up there and also engaging to talk with on a variety of topics. The weather can be misty and windy (as it was on our trip) so be sure to wear/pack layers and include a windproof jacket. Good shoes/hiking boots are a must. Highly Recommended.

Fantastic Excursion!!!

My 8 year old daughter and I had an incredible day on this amazing excursion! Our tour guide Hugo was fantastic. He was so gracious, kind and easy going. He had a lot of great information and stories to tell us. You could ask him anything. We walked at a very comfortable pace enjoying magnificent scenery and amazing views of the island. I highly recommend this tour. The price was very fair for the value we had. The tour company supplied a clean and comfortable van for a short drive which was included in the tour. Being able to walk through such gorgeous scenery really was amazing. One tip! This is a hike on natural trails, not man made paths, there are no handrails etc. Some of the areas are slim to get through, slippery sections, inclines. I would not recommended taking this hike if you are unfit, have joint problems etc. I would not recommend this hike for very small children as you will walk for about 4km. You could not get a stroller around on the uneven natural grounds.
