Shark Ray Alley and Caye Caulker Beach Break by Boat

Calling all those who love the waters and seek adventure! Here is your chance to snorkel at one of the most popular dive sites in the Caribbean.

Hol Chan (Mayan for Little Channel), Belize's oldest marine reserve, is filled with three miles of spectacular coral formations, serene mangroves, and vigorous marine life. Enjoy a beautiful, scenic boat ride out to its reef and snorkel around the Quebrada, or cut in the reef, for an unparalleled snorkeling experience among large schools of groupers, barracudas, snappers, and much more.

From there you will make your way to Zone D of the reserve where you can get up close and personal with friendly nurse sharks and stingrays. The rays have a wingspan of 2 to 4 feet and come directly up to divers in hopes of a food handout. The typically docile nurse sharks average 4 to 6 feet in length but can be a bit more aggressive than the rays.

Continue to Caye Caulker Island where you can relax on the beach. While here, take some time to participate in other Caye Caulker activities such as tarpon feeding.

Conclude your tour at the Belize Tourism Village where you can survey the handicrafts and pick up a souvenir or two on your way back to port.

This 5.5-hour Belize tour includes rum punch and is perfect for animal lovers as well as those who love the water. Reserve your spot today.

This was extraordinary adventure

This excursion was more than expected. We actually swam with the sharks and stingrays! What a wonderful experience. The barrier reef was great with all the colorful coral and different species of fish. To top it off, we got to feed the Tarpon by hand if one wanted to, which I did! The lunch was very good, also. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone.

Great boat ride. Stopped to order lunch that would be ready after snorkeling. Snorkeled with nurse sharks and stingrays! Lots of them. Crew were fun and knowledgeable! Really had a great day! Would go back if in Belize.

Fun excursion with a great local feel
August 02, 2022
We loved snorkeling with the sting rays and nurse sharks swimming all around. We saw lots of fish snorkeling the reef. The best part was lunch on Caulker Caye. Great local spot on a remote island. We had grilled lobster and fish sitting outside at a quaint very local restaurant looking at the beach and watching an iquana scurrying around the beach. Guides were fun and informative.

Loved seeing the animals up close!

We joined this tour and were very pleased with the snorkeling and seeing the sharks and rays up close! The animals were very active and fun to see swimming around us. The boat ride was a bit bumpy, but if you don't mind a speedboat ride you should be good. The included lunch was good and because I saved my excursion description I could prove it was included (other people who got tours through another vendor had trouble). Overall great guides who were knowledgeable and pleasant!

Excellent trip and amazing experience!
March 12, 2020
The tour operator met us outside the cruise port and they took us to the tour boat. Jetting off to Caye Caulker (about a 45 mins ride), we first docked to place our food orders in advance with the local restaurant. They had a variety of food options but we went with the local meal which was excellent. After, we all jumped back on the boat and went out to the first snorkel spot. The reef was beautiful and the guides did their best to show us native conch, lobsters and various types of fish. We then went out to shark ray alley to swim with the nurse sharks and rays. Amazing! Afterwards, we went back to the island to have lunch. We were lucky to have 45 mins after eating to walk around this beautiful island. Finishing up, we all jumped back onto the boat to feed tarpon right outside the island. Very cool experience! Totally wiped out, we headed back to Belize City after an amazing day of fun in the sun. Highly recommend this experience!
