Kayak Exploration at Simpson Bay Lagoon

Take our Simpson Bay Lagoon kayaking tour and you may never want to return to civilization!

After making your way to Simpson Bay, you will meet your guide for a paddling demonstration on the beach. After your quick lesson, you will board your sit-on-top type kayak, which offers exceptional stability, and follow your guides on a gentle paddle across the bay, under the Simpson Bay Bridge, and into the Lagoon. You will pass the incredible mega-yachts docked at the various marinas that dot the coastline of the Simpson Bay Lagoon (Mega-Yacht season is from November to April) and explore the mangroves along the Bellevue coastline.

The guides on your St. Maarten tour will point out interesting creatures like the upside-down jellyfish and the strange sea cucumbers which thrive in these shallow waters. Keep your eyes open for the rarely seen grey and blue herons that nest in these quiet havens on your St. Maarten excursion.

Continue along the coast, where you will be shown the invisible border which has signified a peaceful separation of the Dutch and French parts of St. Maarten since 1648.

Paddling past some of the world's most luxurious motor yachts you will continue out through the bridge into the quiet bay for a well-deserved swim at the beautiful Simpson Bay Beach.

Return to your starting point, where you will enjoy a cold drink and good conversation with your guides at a nearby restaurant.

This St. Maarten tour requires a minimum of four participants to operate.

We really enjoyed this kayak trip. Took taxi from ship, found guide who was super friendly and knowledgeable. Nice tour of yachts and mangroves. Spent some time at nice beach and included a drink at bar. They even had a swimming pool.

Fun Kayak Experience!!
May 03, 2017
This was a well planned excursion and the two guides were awesome!! We headed out into an area where multi-million dollar yachts are anchored and it was a beautiful area. We went by mangrove trees that had some giant iguanas resting in the top branches and some along the shore. They were huge! We had some inexperience kayakers in our group, and the guides were very careful to be sure all were safe and having a great time. We would recommend this excursion!!

Excellent Tour

We had a great afternoon paddling in Simpson Bay. By luck we were the only registrants for the session, so we ended up with a private tour. We had a lovely paddle around the marina area with great commentary and conversation from our guide. We ended the tour with a refreshing drink at the Buccaneer. We highly recommend this tour for both paddling enthusiasts and novices.

Chris, our guide was fantastic! It was such a great experience, we were thinking of getting a kayak for our lake house, that was the motivation for doing the excursion, after doing it we are definitely buying a kayak!

There was only 2 kayaks in the group and Mike gave us a very nice tour of the harbor, making it very personable and enjoyable. Our guide was very engaging and knowledgeable.
