Sintra Half-Day Tour
Dotted by royal retreats, estates, castles, and buildings from the 8th to the 9th century, this charming region is the site of the royal family's summer residence.
Departing from Lisbon, you will travel to the mountainous location of Sintra, approximately 15 miles north of Lisbon. Upon arrival, you will visit the National Palace of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The palace is perhaps the best-preserved Royal Palace in Portugal, due to its being inhabited almost continuously from the early 15th to the late 19th century.
You will have a guided tour followed by free time to explore the handicraft stores or the famous sweets of Sintra.
Departing Sintra, you will take a different route, going west to Cabo da Roca (the most westerly point of Europe) before continuing along the coast, past the famous Guincho beach on the way to Cascais. Driving through the town, you will be able to see the Boca do Inferno wave feature and the magnificent panorama over the Bay of Cascais and the adjoining coastline. On your return to Lisbon, you'll pass by Estoril, home to the famous Casino.
Please Note: All tours are operated in three languages: English, Portuguese, and Spanish (daily). During the high season April 1, 2024 through October 31, 2024, German is available on Tuesdays and Fridays. During the months of November to March, the stop at Cabo da Roca will be replaced with a visit to Hell's Mouth.
