Exclusive Skiff Fishing and Fresh Catch Wilderness Dining

This is why you came to Alaska - to experience an authentic fishing excursion in the unspoiled wilderness of Alaska's southeastern coastline. Your catch then becomes the centerpiece of a gourmet campsite meal that you will remember for a lifetime.

Once you are outfitted head to toe, board an open-air skiff and glide into a breathtaking landscape. Your experienced tour guide leads you to secluded locations for wildlife viewing and remote fishing in Ketchikan. Perfect for serious adventurers or families seeking a personalized tour, this Ketchikan shore excursion is customized to fit your interest and skill level. Everyone has their own rod and tackle and may experience the thrill of salmon fishing and bottom fishing and the exhilaration of landing salmon, rockfish, red snapper, lingcod or one of our specialties, Pacific halibut.

Your skiff then heads to a wilderness campsite where a crackling fire awaits. Settle into the stillness of the rainforest, rest on a beach log and breathe deeply among centuries-old spruce trees and fragrant cedars. Experience this outdoor culinary adventure as you watch the camp cook sumptuous saffron-infused bouillabaisse with Yukon Gold potatoes, anchored by the fresh taste of your morning catch, and accompanied by fire-baked fresh bread with a garlicky aioli and spicy rouille. Savor signature blueberry and rhubarb cobbler and steaming mugs of hot chocolate. By day's end you are swapping fish tales with friends old and new, content with the experience of a uniquely Alaskan way of life.

This Ketchikan port tour experience is very exclusive with a guide ratio of 3 to 5 passengers, making it ideal for families, small groups, or those looking to escape the crowds. Book today as not to miss out, space is very limited and sells out often!

Please Note: All participants ages 16 and older are required by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to purchase a 1 day sport fishing license (not included, approximately $25 US). Licenses may be issued online on the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website, or on location with the guide.

Amazing Day!

This excursion was amazing! We really enjoyed the open, small skiff experience. There was only one other couple on our boat. The tour group gives you all the gear you need to keep warm while the boat is in motion. Our guide took us right to a spot where the fish started biting immediately! We caught tons of rockfish and a couple of salmon. The camp area where the catch is cooked was really nice and relaxing, with a warm campfire already burning. The food was excellent. Basically, the cook makes a stew with the fish you caught along with potatoes, vegetables and a wonderful broth. We even had cobbler for dessert. We also had a Bald Eagle fly around our boat on the way back to the ship - he was hoping for a free snack! I highly recommend this excursion.

My family loved this excursion. They said it was the best fishing that they had ever done. They enjoyed eating the fish at the campsite too.

Our guide was top-notch! 10/10 recommend. Everyone caught fish, conversation was great, weather was perfection. The fish camp meal experience was wonderful. A hot cup of coffee after a chilly morning on the water was a nice treat. Thank you for such a fabulous experience! The only suggestion I have is that anyone that uses the same guide be told ahead of time that he has two dogs that join you. I love dogs and found it to be a wonderful addition. However, not everyone does so it may be a factor that is important to them choosing this excursion.

One of the best excursion

We were lucky enough to have James Smith as our Captain. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and used sonar to find the fish swarm. This was our first time fishing and with James patient, we all caught fish and cooked them at the camp site. I highly recommend this excursion.

One of best meals on our cruise

Captain “Catfish” worked hard until he put us on the fish. All we caught were various kinds of rockfish by all four fishermen in the boat caught at least one. After we finished fishing we went to the wilderness camp and “Catfish” cleaned all our catch. The wilderness cook then fixed them in a delicious bouillabaisse. It was amazing and eating it around a nice camp fire was a great conclusion to our fishing adventure.

Our guide was outstanding. He helped us fish and then deboned our catch to use in a scrumptious meal.
