Private Tapas and Roman Experience (The Vacation Group Ambassador Cruise 2026)
Private Tapas and Roman Experience
At 11:00 AM, clients will be greeted at the exit of the cruise pier by our friendly guide. To make identification easy, the guide will be wearing a white polo shirt and a blue lanyard displaying their official tourist guide card. This marks the beginning of your immersive experience in Cartagena.
By 11:15 AM, the group will visit the Roman Theatre of Cartagena, an extraordinary archaeological site dating back to the 1st century AD. This well-preserved monument offers a glimpse into the city's Roman past and serves as a perfect introduction to its rich cultural heritage.
At 12:15 PM, the tour continues on foot toward the first tapas bar. As you walk through the city, your guide will provide an overview of Cartagena's 3,000 years of history, highlighting some of its most emblematic landmarks. Upon arrival at the bar, you'll enjoy a refreshing drink and a tapa, sampling the local flavors in an authentic setting.
Around 2:30 PM, you'll visit two additional tapas bars, continuing your culinary journey. En route, you'll encounter modernist architectural gems and other iconic sites, with the guide providing insights into their historical and artistic significance. Each stop will offer a new tapa, giving you a broader taste of the regional cuisine.
There is the possibility to include some free time for shopping, giving guests the chance to explore local boutiques, purchase souvenirs, or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere at their own pace.
At 3:30 PM, the group will gather for a tasting of the local specialty, Asiatico coffee. This unique beverage is a Cartagena classic, made with condensed milk, Licor 43, cognac, and espresso, and traditionally garnished with cinnamon and lemon- a perfect finale to the day's experiences.
The tour will officially conclude around 4:00 PM, though there is no rush. Guests can choose to return to the cruise ship with a 10-15 minute walk, or, if preferred, a short bus ride can be arranged, taking less than five minutes. Alternatively, you're welcome to enjoy another Asiatico (on your own) or take a final stroll through the city before heading back.
