Tongass National Forest Scenic River Hike from Ward Cove
Come join a stunning 3.2-mile round-trip hike in a small group of up to 8 people! Hike an improved gravel trail alongside a river, where you will catch glimpses of waterfalls and there will be plenty of spots for picture taking. From there, walk through an old-growth rainforest displaying large Sitka spruce and western red cedar.
The trail is fairly flat and winds along a river valley below a ridge. The destination is a stone bench that sits beside a serene bow in the river. Here you will pause and have some time for reflection. You may also ask how to practice mindfulness and connect with your surroundings during the hike, allowing you to take these skills into other areas of your life.
