Many of the islands of Vanuatu have been inhabited for thousands of years, the oldest archaeological evidence dates to 2000 BC. Vanuatu is one of the most culturally diverse countries on earth, with 113 distinct languages and innumerable dialects.
On this popular 6-hour guided tour you will make your way to a cultural village to observe traditional fishing and hunting methods used by the Vanuatu people which are still used in some remote islands.
Discover the area's history of cannibalism and how the differing tribes handled dispute resolution. You will also meet the village doctor who is also the village's midwife.
During your visit to the village you will be entertained by welcome and warrior dances, then muster up your courage and walk on pre-heated volcanic rocks! You will also hear the Lambada played with local water bottles.
From there you will make your way into the clear, warm waters to get up close and personal with sea turtles. You can also take the opportunity for a quick snorkel or just relax on the white, sandy beaches before indulging in a delicious BBQ lunch with seasonal fruits.
