Recommended Dress We recommend wearing a swimsuit under comfortable clothing and shoes. A towel, sunglasses, and biodegradable sunscreen (for after the dolphin portion) is recommended. Sunblock, jewelry, watches, rings, bracelets, or any object which might scratch the dolphin is not permitted in the water with the dolphins.
Restrictions The MINIMUM height requirement is 3 feet 3 inches (39 inches / 100 cm). Children under 3 feet 9 inches (45 inches / 114 cm) must be accompanied by TWO paying adults for each child. Children between 3 feet 9 inches and 4 feet 6 inches (45–54 inches / 114–137 cm) also require one paying adult per child. Children over 4 feet 6 inches (54 inches / 137 cm) can participate independently. Infants under 3 feet 3 inches (39 inches / 100 cm) or children ages 1 to 5 who do not meet the height requirement are not eligible to participate. If any children are participating on their own (without at least one adult per child), they must be counted as an adult at the time of booking.

Pregnant women may not participate in this tour.

Guests ages 60–79 may participate in all dolphin programs provided they are fully independent, have no medical or mobility limitations, and can swim unassisted. Guests ages 80 and over may participate in the Dolphin Encounter only; other interactive dolphin programs are not permitted.

You do not need to be a swimmer to participate in this program. All participants are required to wear a life jacket. Sunblock, jewelry, watches, rings, bracelets, or any objects that might scratch the dolphin are not permitted in the water with the dolphins.

The instructors have the final say on what can and cannot be worn in the water with the dolphins. For security reasons, personal cameras are not allowed in the water or in the program area. A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures, which will be available for purchase.

Dolphin Royal Swim in Cozumel

Chankanaab National Marine Park provides the perfect setting for your dolphin experience in Cozumel. In addition to beautiful beaches, snorkeling, and on-site amenities, the highlight of your visit is the engaging Dolphin Royal program.

Your experience begins with a 15-minute orientation led by a professional trainer, where you will learn about dolphin anatomy, behavior, and conservation. You'll then step onto a submerged platform to begin your interaction with two dolphins.

From the platform, you'll enjoy a variety of educational and interactive moments, including a dolphin welcome, anatomy overview, blowhole observation, and insights into how dolphins use their senses. You may also experience interactions such as a dolphin kiss, fin shake, and observing dolphin behaviors up close.

During your time in the water, the experience becomes even more immersive. You'll take part in individual and group interactions, where dolphins may perform activities such as swimming by, splashing, responding to hand signals, and vocalizing.

The program includes approximately 45 minutes of in-water time and a total duration of about 60 minutes, with a maximum of 10 guests per platform to ensure a comfortable and interactive experience.

As part of your visit, you will also enjoy a 10-minute manatee meet and greet, as well as access to the park's amenities, including a sea lion presentation, pool and dining options.

This experience offers a well-rounded combination of education, interaction, and fun, making it a memorable way to connect with marine life during your time in Cozumel.

Please Note: On the platform, guests will take part in an educational briefing on dolphin anatomy and habits, including their senses of smell and taste, along with activities such as Dolphin Embrace, Dolphin Sight, and Heart to Heart. In the water, guests will swim away from the platform one by one for individual interactions, where the dolphins may perform Sounds (singing), Splash, and Hand Target. The program lasts approximately 60 minutes, with a maximum of 10 guests per platform and two dolphins. Admission to Chankanaab National Marine Park is included, along with a 10-minute manatee interaction, 10-minute sea lion show, pool access, buffet lunch, open bar, and access to the VIP restaurant.

Park admission is included in your dolphin tour. Guests in your party who will not be participating in the dolphin activity, including children under 8 years old who are unable to take part, should book the Dolphin Swim Adventure at Chankanaab tour to enter the park.

Guests may arrive at any time and enjoy the park's facilities, including the beach, swimming areas, and other attractions. Your dolphin swim begins at the time printed on your ticket. Transportation to and from the park is not included, so you are free to arrive and depart at your convenience.
