Book this half-day tour today and get ready to experience the native and natural side of Cozumel up close.
On time pick-up at the cruise port by Shore Excursion spotter and greeted in a very pleasant manner by the tour guides. This is a wonderful working ranch in Conzumel. It took about 25 mins. to get to the ranch and the drive has a portion that is along the coast which provided beautiful beach views for a relaxing drive roundtrip. Once there you get a safety briefing as you are familiarized with your horse. A knowledgeable tour guide provided historical facts about the Mayan's and their way of life as we stopped at certain areas throughout the ride. The horse ride was adapted to your skill level. The excursion is titled Mayan Frontier by Horseback and Beach however, there is no beach portion to the excursion. The only beach you'll see is on the drive there and back. However, that does not take away from this great excursion.

My husband and I were the only 2 people on the cruise ship who booked this excursion, so we ended up getting our own private guided horseback tour through the Mayan Ruins. Our guide, Carlos, demonstrated and helped each of us to mount, direct, ride, and dismount the horses before beginning the tour. He was friendly and very knowledgeable during the tour. We saw many iguanas and beautiful landscape. It was a warm sunny day, but there was a lot of tree coverage so we did not get too hot. We highly recommend this excursion!
This tour is definitely geared toward the beginner rider, so don't be intimidated if you're not an experienced equestrian! We have horses at home, and I think my wife was hoping for a little more. Carlos, our guide, was friendly, and informative. As mentioned by the previous review, bring cash, because there will be plenty of opportunities for the ranch operators to extract more of it from you. The only thing that bugged me a little, was the constant begging for tips. Only a little.

The hosts were great and did their best to match everyone to a horse that fit that persons riding ability. I highly recommend cash as they were selling pictures and tips are appreciated. There is a small gift shop on the premises.
