Mayan Frontier by Horseback and Beach

The excitement of your interactive journey begins as you board an open-air bus for a picturesque ride out to Hacienda Santa Emilia, a private horseback riding ranch on the eastern side of Cozumel.

This small excursion is perfect for beginner and experienced riders alike as your guides will give you detailed riding instructions then expertly match you with a horse that meets your personal level of riding experience.

You and your guides will leave the ranch behind as you make your way through the scenic jungle trails filled with Mayan ruins and deep caverns.

Throughout the ride you will learn about the Mayan people and culture, the Gods they worshiped and their way of life. Hear fascinating stories and facts of the Mayans including how this strong community of great warriors invented the number zero and were accomplished astronomers.

Upon your return to the Hacienda you will say goodbye to your four-footed friend and make your way to Ecolounge Beach for a little beach time before returning to the port and your ship.

Book this half-day tour today and get ready to experience the native and natural side of Cozumel up close.

Mayan Frontier by Horseback and Beach

We enjoyed the Horseback riding and appreciated the employees of the Mayan Frontier making special arrangements for us to get back in time to board our ship. We had to miss the Beach due to the time our ship was leaving. When we scheduled both of our Shoreline excursions I don’t believe the Time change(day light savings) was considered and therefore caused us not be able to fully experience this excursion and miss the excursion on day 2 all together.

Unforgettable experience

My sister and I truly enjoyed it. They accommodated us with great calm horses since we have never ridden before. Afterwards we went to the beach and ate a snack with a wonderful view. The tour leader was knowledgeable and waited for us all the time.

OMG! Never expected to have this much fun. The guide was absolutely terrific. His instructions were detailed and extremely helpful. Each rider was able to ride at their own experience level. After the horseback riding portion, we went to a quaint beach bar with amazing scenery. Definitely would do this excursion again the next time we are in Cozumel.

We are a family of 4 with some first time riders. Great guide. Nice trails. Horses mostly walk but can move a little faster at times if you let them. Bring and use bug spray. They have some for free if you don’t have your own.

Guide Carlos was fun, knowledgable and made sure we were always comfortable and safe. The horses were easy to ride and the ruins were really interesting. The restaurant/beach area was beautiful.
