Private Dostoevsky's St.Petersburg "Crime & Punishment" (Visas Included)

Your learned guide escorts you to famous museums, opulent palaces, noted boulevards, and embankments, mirroring the steps from Dostoevsky's masterpiece novel "Crime and Punishment."

Initially, your St. Petersburg tour guide will escort you to a food market to acquire a true taste for the Russian culture. You'll then roam the Dostoevsky area before heading to the Dostoevsky museum. Here, you will see the famed writer's manuscripts and lifestyle, depicted with authenticity.

After your time at the Dostoevsky museum, visit a Russian Vodka museum which provides a great opportunity to experience Russian drinking traditions. The morning unfolds with a retracing of the characters in the book "Crime and Punishment". Characters like the main protagonist, Raskolnikov are studied by visiting his model home, the streets, bridges and embankments he notably strolled while he strategized his burglary and murder. You will get to visit the Pawn Broker's apartment (his victim), bringing words from the book to the physical world.

Visiting Fyodor Dostoyevsky's former apartment is quite an experience, as it now serves as a Memorial Museum in his honor. The biography of one man offers a historical review of the entire country. This unique and interesting morning is one you won't forget. Dostoevsky fans will love this excursion and newcomers to the writer will be eager to read his book after this tour!

Please be aware that cruise lines occasionally mislead passengers by telling them that they are not allowed to disembark the ship in St. Petersburg unless they are on an excursion purchased through the cruise line. In addition, the cruise lines also sometimes tell passengers that they cannot disembark the ship until the passengers on the cruise lines' excursions have done so first. This is incorrect, and you are free to exit the ship as soon as passengers start to disembark because Russian law states that a cruise ship cannot hold passengers onboard against their will as long as they have the proper documents. In order to clear immigration, you will need to bring along: 1) Your passport; 2) A photocopy of the picture page of your passport; and 3) A copy of your tour tickets. We will provide you with your tour tickets as part of the documents we e-mail to you after you make a tour booking.
