Whale Watching Cruise

From December until April in Los Cabos you will have the perfect opportunity to see a variety of whales on a daily basis with the main attraction being the California gray whale and of course, the massive humpback. Baja is home to two world heritage sites that protect the whales and the surrounding environment making this area perfect for the whales to give birth and begin rearing their calves. Come see these amazing animals yourself on a glass-bottom boat with a maximum of 14 passengers, giving you a front-row seat to one of nature's greatest shows.

The whales make their way south completing a migration that can be up to 6,000 miles long coming from places like Alaska and Siberia. Upon arriving in December they remain until April and then repeat their journey northward. An ideal climate, shallow waters, salinity and abundant marine life make the bays and lagoons north of Los Cabos the perfect place for whales. Of the 11 species of whales found worldwide, eight venture to the waters off Los Cabos, including minke, sperm, Bryde's, finback, sei, humpback, gray and blue. This six-month, round-trip sojourn is the longest trip made by any animal in the world. Orcas and bottlenose dolphins also love to swim in these waters, and when the water is clear you may also spot giant manta rays just below the surface.

Board your glass-bottom whale watching boat and be prepared for an amazing 2 hours on the water. The boat fits a maximum of only 14 people, ensuring you will have excellent views without the crowds, and will take you comfortably and quickly to the best spots to see the whales. From coming up for a breath and spouting to signify their presence, to a full body breach where the whale rockets out of the water, a close encounter with these majestic animals is something everyone needs to experience.

Upon the return to shore you will also be provided with shopping time in Cabo San Lucas before you are returned to the pier area and your ship.

Please Note: The whale watching portion of the tour is 2 hours.

Boat was smaller than expected...

... Other than the boat being smaller than expected, the excursion was good. The staff was pleasant. We did not see many whales but no one can predict that.

Whale watching in Cabo
April 18, 2019
The office was easy to find. The crew was very helpful and did a great job. They made sure we got photo ops through out the excursion. On the way back to the dock he spotted a whale breach and and took time to give us a chance to see the whale.

Lots of whales
March 25, 2019
Once we got off the ship, finding the place to meet for the tour was easy. The directions were clear and accurate. The tour began with a photo op at the arch. We saw whales throughout the tour and even saw a mom teaching her baby how to flap his tail on the water. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. Great experience!

Lots of Whales
March 20, 2019
Excellent tour, small group (6 people). The guide did a great job of getting us close to the whales and did an excellent job of explaining things. I have been on whale watching tours in Alaska and Hawaii, but this one was by far the best.

Best Whale Watching Excursion Ever!
March 10, 2018
We had been on many whale watching excursions in Alaska and New England but this one was the best by far. We spent 90 minutes watching this whale and her calf jumping out of the water. It was suppose to be an excursion for 12 people but they decided to use 2 boats so we were in a small boat with only 1 other couple. Our guide continually maneuvered our boat to give us a great vantage point. He followed the whales wherever they went. It was an unforgettable experience.
