Best excursion of the trip

Didn't know what to expect when we came off the ship and was met by our driver in a mini-van. But after 10 minutes we knew that we were going to have a great time. The excursion was planned for 3-hours but we hit if off so well that we ended up visiting areas around the island for 5-hours. Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and took us places that we may never had gone. Final stop was at a beach near the airport and had a great chance to see 40 sea turtles on the beach. Highly recommend this experience

Dolphin reef and captain Cook snorkel
April 26, 2023
This was an awesome trip to a really nice cove and reef. Plenty of room to swim and snorkel and see all kinds of fish, corral, and just about everything else. The boat ride was perfect and the Capt / first mate were awesome 👍

Awesome snorkeling adventure & great communication
April 26, 2023
Loved this trip! The crew was fun and friendly and flexible, we got to snorkel for basically as long as we wanted and it was a wonderful spot. We saw so many dolphins as well. Crew provided wraps, chips and drinks for lunch. Take cover-ups and sun hats, not a lot of respite from the sun, but the boat is fast and the water was nice and cool at the beginning of April, we were super comfortable both in and out of the water. Hawaii has thankfully outlawed non-reef-safe sunscreens but you can easily purchase Reef Safe Sunscreen at your local stores before you go or at the many Long’s Drugs or Safeway or ABC stores on the islands. Several of our shipmates saw a sea turtle while snorkeling, but we missed it on this trip. The group we went with was called Iruka and they were great!

Long and Winding Road
April 11, 2023
If you like beautiful scenery and winding roads, then this is the tour for you. It is about 110 miles of coastline and waterfalls, beaches and dropoffs to get to Hana and back. Our guide Bjorn was great with humor, history, and descriptions of the flora and fauna of the area. We stopped off at a couple of beaches and had lunch at Tony's in Hana (not a bad cheeseburger and the wife liked the mahi mahi). This is definitely a time where you have to enjoy the journey rather than the destination. My 11 and 9 year olds were bored crazy, but I enjoyed the ride mostly.

Great Trip

Our guide Jill was fantastic. Gave lots of good stories and information during the trip. Stopped at the Rainbow falls, lava fields/tube, and of course the volcano. Recommended.

Good snorkeling
April 11, 2023
The reef was full of fish and clear. Smooth boat ride. Even saw a pod of dolphins on the way back. The guides provided snacks and wraps and they were good. Classic corny jokes etc. from the guides. Enjoyable time.

Worth it.

I was a little nervous about a helicopter ride that I have zero control over and not thrilled with the prices I was finding, but having the experience was very cool. Chrissy was our pilot and she did a great job of maneuvering the helicopter and describing all the cool stuff we saw in the canyon, Napali coastline, etc. Do this.
